Then the rain came down...

Hi Room 18! I hope you are enjoying your holiday break where ever you are and what ever you are doing. If you were in Auckland today you would have noticed we had a pretty good rain storm and many places had flash floods - including our own school!

Trish Ramsay was working in her room when she noticed these amazing scenes and captured these great pictures.

I think that the field looked like a big muddy field with grass and a cricket pitch in it. I didn't notice it because I was in the movies during the whole thing.

It looked really amazing, how flooded the field was, and how much rain fell. My backyard was about as flooded as the field. My street had a large, fast flowing river beside the curb. It is interesting how much rain can fall at once.

I was amazed it was like last year how much rain could fall to make that humongous flood. The rain flooded a sloped road it was rushing down to the gutter.

Andre it looks like a muddy pond but bigger. It would be hard to do any sports on the field like soccer. It's like when my drive way is flood.

I thought it was amazing how that there could be enough rain to create the flood. It was very ineresting.

I think it looked cool and like a bath for birds. I wonder how deep it was in the middle?

I think the flood is quiet big but at the same time I'm wondering how deep it is? it because if it is deep it could be a giant bird bath.
