Explorers and Pioneers
As part of our Rich Task and Reading learning, we have been finding out about many interesting and inspiring explorers and pioneers from the past.
For this task you are to find out about someone you have not studied in class, and write out what you found interesting about them.
Answer these questions as part of your learning:
- What personal characteristics did/do they possess? Eg: determined because ... enthusiastic because ... and so on.
- How has what they did in the past changed the present?
- How do you think what they achieved will impact on the future?

We are on Skype.

We have just set up Skype in our room, which has hopefully opened some doors to more learning opportunities for the children.
We are currently studying famous explorers and pioneers and as part of their learning the children are encouraged to seek experts to help them with their research.
If you are from another school, classroom or are a student from another country and would like to make contact with Room 18, leave us your Skype address as a post (we won't publish it).
You can alternatively add us to Skype as a contact: room18balmoral - but to be safe, please leave us a message about who you are and where you are from.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Room 18.
