CIB Sharing

Room 30 has been learning about animals and topics that apply to animals and have done some fact finding research.

This involved identifying what we already knew or thought we knew and adding new found facts to our knowledge. To share we had a choice of video, sound recordings, slide shows, drama and posters.

We had our presentations and showed our facts in a creative way. Here is one example of a slideshow:

Sploder Games

These games are an example of the skills that our Balmoral game designers are making.

Please play them and add a review about what you liked and what you think could be improved. We will then ask the designers to modify their games according to any justified feedback.

Enjoy the awesome skills of our student designers! The first game here 'Diamond Fury' was made by Bill in his own time at home, he thought he would love for you all to play it and review it.

We are on Skype.

Dear Visitors,

We have just set up Skype in our room, which has hopefully opened some doors to more learning opportunities for the children.

We are currently studying famous explorers and pioneers and as part of their learning the children are encouraged to seek experts to help them with their research.

If you are from another school, classroom or are a student from another country and would like to make contact with Room 18, leave us your Skype address as a post (we won't publish it).

You can alternatively add us to Skype as a contact: room18balmoral - but to be safe, please leave us a message about who you are and where you are from.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Room 18.

Robotics Club

Balmoral School has recently set up the opportunity to be involved in a Robotics Club as part of the Lego Mindstorm for education initiative. This is the first year we are looking into entering a team of children to take part in the robotics competition. The competition not only involves programming a Mindstorm robot to enter a set series of challenges, but also involves a large research project.

This entry is to allow you and your teams to discuss and contribute to the ideas around community, and what it is. See the out take from the site instructions. Use this post over the holidays to share your ideas about this big idea.

Begin your project by describing your community. This season, it is up to your team to define your community. Is it your school? your neighborhood? your city, village, or town? your country? the world? Be prepared to share how you defined your community.
