EOTC 2016 - What a blast!

What an amazing time we had at Motu Moana and Orakei Basin last week. We all used our Balmoral Habits well and over came many challenges, used team work and had a load of fun.

EOTC Gear List 2016

EOTC Gear List

All your gear must be clearly named – it is your responsibility to look after each day.

You MUST bring:
       Motu Moana
  • Empty 1.25 or 2.25 plastic bottle for Bottle Rockets (these go to your class in Week 5 and 6)
  • Sun block
  • Sunhat
  • Sport shoes (that can get dirty)
  • Rain coat or jacket (if the weather forecast suggests)
  • Snacks/Morning Tea
  • Lunch
  • Drink bottle
  • Insect repellent (OPTIONAL)
  • Change of clothes
  • Plastic bag for wet gear
  • Please no singlet tops, everyone must wear a top that covers shoulders.

Orakei Basin
  • Swimming togs
  • Sunblock (water resistant)
  • Towel
  • Sun hat
  • Rash shirt or t-shirt which can get wet (no bare shoulders)
  • Wet suit (if you have one - however, there are plenty at the Basin to wear)
  • Warm change of clothes
  • Old sports shoes or footwear that can get wet (everyone must wear shoes not jandals)
  • Snacks
  • Lunch
  • Drink bottle
  • Insect repellent (OPTIONAL)
  • Plastic bag for wet gear
  • Please no singlet tops, everyone must wear a top that covers shoulders.

You will need this to fit into your school bag, so that you can carry it on the bus.  It is always a good idea to have a practice packing your bag, so you know where everything is.

The Westpac Chopper!

We have had an amazing visit from the Westpac Rescue Team in their helicopter. Some students and teachers (including Andrew) were lucky enough to get a ride. It was exciting for everyone all the same. What a great service Westpac Rescue offers to our country. Remember they need support from fundraising and donations to continue their services.

Chopper Challenge!

This term we have been lucky enough to have the team from Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopters in at school as part of the fundraising effort to support this wonderful cause. Some of our students have signed up and are trying their best to achieve their goals and raise money to support rescue helicopters. Everyone gets to take part in the Chopper Challenge though, and as you can imagine some of the tasks really are challenging! Room 18 post your comments about the things you enjoy and find challenging.
